The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), under the leadership of Minister Nyesom Wike, has officially entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Suburban Broadband (SPV) to revamp the waterfront of Jabi Lake.
This redevelopment initiative intends to transform the site into a high-end, mixed-use luxury hub recognized worldwide.
As reported by Abuja Metro, the agreement was finalized last Friday and aims to position Abuja as a key global destination, drawing parallels to notable global landmarks such as Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah.
A delegation from Suburban Broadband, led by Barr. Ahmed Nasser (Dan Darman Lokoja), was present at the signing, along with esteemed partners including Mrs. Olufunmilayo Hannah Aigbomian, Mr. Idris C. Usman of First Trust Mortgage Providers, and Mr. Pankaj, a foreign technical partner.
The consortium has pledged to begin operations at the site without delay and is committed to completing the project within the agreed timeline.
According to the developers, this project is anticipated to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs while delivering state-of-the-art residential, commercial, hospitality, and recreational facilities, thereby elevating Abuja's stature to attract both international business and leisure tourists.
Barr. Ahmed Nasser remarked, "This partnership signifies a critical move towards redefining Abuja’s skyline and enhancing its global image. The Jabi Lake Waterfront will solidify the Federal Capital Territory’s position as Africa's leading capital city."
Minister Nyesom Wike emphasized the importance of adherence to the terms of the MOU, urging the Suburban Broadband team to focus on transparency, sustainability, and excellence in execution.
