On Tuesday, the Federal Government reaffirmed its dedication to supporting the developmental initiatives of Ondo State, coinciding with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa's presentation of a five-point policy agenda designed to promote sustainable growth and governance.

During the grand celebration marking Ondo State's 50th anniversary in Akure, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, conveyed President Bola Tinubu's goodwill message, assuring locals of a partnership aimed at leveraging the state's abundant human and natural resources for the benefit of national development.

The jubilee event, hosted at the Ondo State Sports Complex, attracted a range of notable figures, including Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, former Ondo State Governor Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, along with other distinguished sons and daughters of Ondo.

President Tinubu emphasized that the Renewed Hope Agenda is concentrated on enhancing security, upgrading infrastructure, empowering communities, and promoting balanced development throughout Ondo State.

"The Federal Government, through the Renewed Hope Agenda, remains committed to assisting Ondo State in leveraging its opportunities, improving infrastructure, enhancing security, and empowering communities to ensure that every citizen benefits from growth and advancement," the President stated.

He also commended the populace of Ondo State for their active democratic involvement, pointing out that their conduct in recent elections has strengthened Nigeria's democratic principles. Tinubu further encouraged the youth to embrace innovation and civic engagement, highlighting their role as essential drivers for the forthcoming phase of development in the state.

In his remarks, Governor Aiyedatiwa characterized the golden jubilee as a celebration of past achievements and a call to action, unveiling a five-point agenda focused on personal and public security, economic diversification and value generation, revitalizing infrastructure and connectivity, developing human capital, and fostering transparent and accountable governance.

“Our administration is committed to ensuring that development is centered on the people, is inclusive, and is sustainable,” he remarked.

The governor also paid homage to the pioneers of the state, including farmers, educators, civil servants, and young people whose sacrifices have laid the groundwork for Ondo State's progress. He urged younger generations to take an active role in shaping the future of the state over the next fifty years.
