A fire incident on Saturday evening has completely razed a bungalow situated within the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) estate in Lugbe, along Airport Road, Abuja.
The blaze reportedly commenced around 7:30 p.m. and caused total destruction to the property.
Eyewitnesses indicated that the fire started shortly after electricity supply was restored to the neighbourhood. One resident stated, "The occupants of the building were not around. The fire began after they restored power. Everything has been consumed."
Fire service officials were alerted and responded to the scene. However, some individuals present expressed dissatisfaction with the speed of their arrival and their efforts to extinguish the flames.
"The fire had been burning for approximately an hour. The fire service personnel were unable to put it out," another witness commented.
At least three fire service vehicles, manned by fully equipped personnel, were observed at the location actively working to quell the inferno.
No casualties were reported as a result of the fire.
Dozens of onlookers gathered at the scene to observe the emergency responders' efforts to control the fire.
The building, located within a compound with a red gate, was seen to have been entirely devastated by the fire.
