Former Abia Governor to Lead Convention Committee for Wike's Faction

The National Caretaker Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has appointed former Abia State Governor Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu to head the National Convention Organizing Committee. This committee is responsible for planning the party's upcoming convention.

The National Caretaker Working Committee (NCWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially selected Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, the former Governor of Abia State, to chair the National Convention Organizing Committee for the party.

Recently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Ikpeazu as Nigeria's Ambassador to Spain.

According to a document detailing the members of the 2026 Elective Convention that was reviewed by Daily Trust and signed by Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the faction's National Secretary, the NCWC has confirmed and published the names of those on the convention committee.

The committee is made up of various stakeholders and leaders from across the nation tasked with the responsibility of organizing, coordinating, and ensuring the successful execution of the National Convention while adhering to the Party's Constitution and guidelines.

Additionally, the list reveals that Senator Mustapha Khabeeb has been designated as the Secretary of the convention committee.

Earlier, during a press conference, the faction's National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, disclosed that the sale of nomination forms will begin immediately after the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
