Benjamin Elue, who served as the Deputy Governor of Delta State, has passed away at the age of 85. He died on Saturday.
Delta Governor Oborevwori conveyed his sorrow upon hearing of Elue's death, describing him as a "loyal patriot, seasoned administrator, and committed party member" whose significant contributions to the development and stability of Delta State will forever be remembered.
Elue held the position of Deputy Governor from 1999 to 2007 under former Governor Chief James Ibori.
Governor Oborevwori noted that Elue's tenure was marked by his humility, strong work ethic, and steadfast loyalty to the government he was a part of.
