Tim Westwood, the former DJ from BBC Radio 1, is scheduled to stand trial next year, confronting a series of charges related to rape and sexual assault.

The 68-year-old is facing accusations including four counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault that span from 1983 to 2016.

These charges involve seven women, with three of the reported incidents of indecent assault allegedly occurring in BBC Studios in London during the 1990s.

Moreover, Westwood is claimed to have raped a woman at a London hotel in 1996 and later sexually assaulted another individual at a music festival in London roughly two decades after.

The prosecution asserts that the alleged offenses display a consistent pattern of misconduct, while Westwood maintains his innocence regarding all charges.

During a brief session at Southwark Crown Court today, before Judge Tony Baumgartner, Westwood was not present.

A pre-trial review hearing is scheduled for December 14, with the trial projected to commence on January 25, 2027.

Westwood, residing in a luxurious flat in Fitzrovia, Central London, is currently out on bail with conditions that prevent him from contacting the alleged victims. He must also notify authorities of any travel plans three days in advance and is required to inform police regarding any changes to his living address, particularly if traveling outside of the UK.

The veteran DJ is also accused of having indecently assaulted a 17-year-old girl in Fulham, West London, in 1983, and allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in her twenties in Vauxhall in 1986.

Prosecutors assert that between 1995 and 1996, Westwood raped a girl aged 17 to 18. This same victim is also claimed to have been sexually assaulted in central London.

Further, Westwood is accused of raping and sexually assaulting another female aged between 17 and 18 in London between 2000 and 2001. Additional charges include the rape of a woman in her twenties in London, as stated in the allegations.

The latest accusation involves a sexual assault on a woman in her twenties in Finchley, North London, in 2016. Further, he is also charged with the sexual assault of a woman in her twenties in Stroud in 2010.

In another incident from 2016 in Finchley, a woman in her twenties alleges that Westwood sexually assaulted her.

Authorities continue to keep the investigation active and have called on anyone affected by this case to come forward.
