American rapper Offset has been taken to the hospital following a shooting incident that took place in Florida. The artist, whose legal name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was reportedly injured on the evening of Monday, April 6th, in the vicinity of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, a city near Miami.
A representative for the 34-year-old Migos co-founder confirmed the musician was "shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care." The spokesperson added that Offset is "stable and being closely monitored."
The Seminole Police Department acknowledged the event in a statement, noting that officers responded to an incident in a valet area after 7 p.m. on Monday. The police department stated that the incident resulted in non-life- threatening injuries to an individual who was subsequently transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.
According to the police, officers were present at the scene immediately, and the situation was brought under control rapidly. The statement also indicated that two individuals have been taken into custody by the police in connection with the incident.
While the investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is reportedly ongoing, police have assured the public that the area is secure and there is no current threat. They confirmed that normal operations at the venue are continuing.
