Professor Kabiru Isa Dandago, a notable figure who previously held the position of Commissioner for Finance in Kano State, has died.
Dandago breathed his last on Wednesday evening at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
The tragically sad news was confirmed by Lamara Garba, who serves as the Director of Information at Bayero University in Kano, where Dandago was a professor in the Accounting and Taxation department within the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences.
"It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Professor Dandago," Garba stated. "Just recently, he participated in a relief fund aimed at aiding the families of our late colleagues. May the Almighty Allah grant him eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus. Amin."
Last weekend, Dandago was set to attend a Ramadan discussion organized by the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT).
His tenure as finance commissioner spanned from June 2015 until October 2018, under the administration of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
Dandago was also the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences at Bayero University, a position he had held since joining the institution in September 1990.
Over the years, he authored and edited various works covering topics in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, and Economics.
