Tylor Chase seems to be in dire circumstances following his recent media coverage.
The former Nickelodeon actor is reportedly sleeping on the porch of his mother’s home, using a piece of plywood as a makeshift barrier from public view.
Images have surfaced showing Chase in a disheveled state, appearing to smoke a pipe while resting in a concealed area on his mom's porch in California as he continues to grapple with his substance abuse issues.
Last year, a widely circulated video depicted Tylor looking unrecognizable while living on the streets, prompting his former Nickelodeon colleagues to offer support, including food and temporary housing. They also initiated a fundraising effort to secure medical assistance for him.
Despite these efforts, authorities indicated that Chase has consistently rejected offers for medical treatment and housing, reverting back to homelessness after attempts by his former peers to assist him.
Chase's father previously spoke about his son's struggles with addiction and mental health challenges but mentioned that Tylor has declined to seek help.
Recent photos released by the New York Post illustrate Chase looking unkempt while seeking shelter behind the wooden plank on his mother's porch. It remains unclear whether he has access to the inside of the house or is simply allowed to sleep outdoors.
Chase’s mother, Paula Moisio, describes their home as a secure space for him during this ongoing battle with homelessness.
His plight garnered attention last year when he was spotted rummaging through a dumpster for food near a 7-Eleven.
Neighbors have commented that he has become a noticeable presence in the area, although it is uncertain whether any complaints have been made regarding his situation.
Chase gained fame for his role as Martin Qwerly in Nickelodeon's series 'Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide.'
After he went viral in a recent video, many fans expressed concern for his welfare, leading to a GoFundMe campaign that raised over $1,200. However, his mother halted the campaign, stating that the funds could be misused for drugs, emphasizing that he requires medical care rather than financial assistance.
His father disclosed that the family has been addressing these challenges for over ten years, portraying Tylor as a 'wonderful person' when he is well, but lamenting that his issues with addiction have dominated his life.
"For over a decade, the family has sought treatment options for Tylor, addressing both substance abuse and mental health needs," he stated. “In addition to addiction, Tylor has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, conditions requiring regular medical attention.”
