The last suspect involved in the homicide of 22-year-old Nigerian e-hailing driver, Isaac Satlat, has voluntarily presented himself to the police in Atteridgeville, Pretoria.
This individual turned himself in on Monday, February 16, 2026, and is scheduled to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court the following day.
On the same day he surrendered, three other accused parties—Dikeledi Tears Phela, Gositsiane Machidi, and McClaren Mushwana—made a brief appearance in court.
This trio chose to withdraw their applications for bail and will remain in custody as proceedings move forward.
The case has been adjourned until February 23 to permit additional investigations into the matter.
According to Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo, all four suspects face serious charges including premeditated murder, aggravated robbery, and hijacking.
These charges arise from an incident that transpired on February 11, 2026, when Satlat was allegedly assaulted after accepting a ride request in Pretoria West.
Subsequent to the attack, Satlat's vehicle and his body were located in Atteridgeville. Disturbing footage of the incident, which spread widely through social media platforms, sparked significant public outrage.
Investigations by law enforcement agencies are ongoing.
