French prosecutors announced on Tuesday that ten men, whose ages range from 29 to 50 years old, have been charged in connection with an investigation into the alleged r@pe of a five-year-old boy who was reportedly drugged during the incident.

The case began on February 15, 2025, when authorities were notified about a "chemsex" party that had occurred the night before in Lille, a city in northern France, according to the local prosecutor’s office.

Allegations indicated that the child was allegedly introduced to adult males by his own father, leading to accusations of sexual violence exacerbated by the administration of chemical substances.

The prosecutor’s office has referred the matter to an investigating judge. The inquiry covers offenses committed in Lille from November 2024 to February 14, 2025, focusing on charges of r@pe and sexual assault facilitated by drugging the victim without his consent, thereby impairing his ability to resist or understand what was happening.

After a thorough investigation, the ten individuals in question were charged, although the specific date of the charges has not been disclosed.

Reports from the local publication Dernieres Nouvelles d’Alsace suggest that at least one of the accused was not a direct participant in the events but received a video related to the incident and failed to report it to the authorities.

It has also emerged that one of the primary suspects took his own life while in pretrial detention in June of the previous year, with the prosecutor’s office withholding further details regarding his identity.

The young boy is currently in the care of his mother, with whom the father had separated prior to the alleged abuse.

The term "chemsex" refers to the practice of enhancing sexual interactions through the use of potent drugs, a trend that has raised health concerns within segments of Europe's LGBTQ+ communities. Medical professionals and advocacy groups have expressed alarm over the associated risks, which include addiction, accidental overdoses, and heightened vulnerability to HIV, as the number of individuals affected continues to rise.
