Following their third training session on March 25, two players reported that their Rolex watches, valued at $20,000, had been stolen. Subsequently, a member of the technical team discovered that $2,250 in cash was also missing.

Team officials promptly notified local authorities about the incident; however, attempts to examine security footage were impeded as hotel management claimed the cameras were not functional.

Kofi Adams, Ghana's Minister for Sports and Recreation, reported that initial evaluations indicated that the hotel’s CCTV system was inoperative during the timeframe of the theft, a situation currently undergoing comprehensive investigation by police.

Adams stated, “They are working to conduct the investigation. The preliminary report reveals that the CCTV was malfunctioning, and the police are determining when it ceased to function and who was accountable for the hotel's surveillance arrangements at that time.”

Despite this distressing incident, the Black Stars are preparing to play against Austria at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion later today, with the match set to commence at 17:00 GMT.
