Governor Fintiri Advances Development Initiatives During Jada, Shelleng and Hong LGA Tours

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has ramped up his grassroots development initiatives as his state-wide project assessment tour reached Jada, Shelleng, and Hong Local Government Areas over Days 6, 7, and 8, respectively.

The purpose of the tour, which aims to evaluate existing projects while identifying essential community requirements across the 21 Local Government Areas, included inaugurating significant projects, launching new infrastructure, and making new commitments aimed at fostering socio-economic advancement.

Jada: Road Infrastructure, Water Supply, and Growth

In the Jada LGA, Governor Fintiri reiterated his government’s dedication to providing clean water and vital infrastructure. He declared that additional resources would be allocated to strengthen existing water projects for their long-term viability.

To enhance connectivity and stimulate economic activities, the governor inaugurated the construction of 4.42 kilometers of primary roads. He also officially opened the Local Government Chairman’s residence, among other completed projects.

The governor assured community members that all valid requests would be addressed promptly. Local lawmakers and cabinet members commended the government's advancements in health and human capital, while advocating for the establishment of a tertiary institution and the construction of the Jada- Kojoli Road to sustain economic progression.

The visit was marked by vibrant cultural performances that demonstrated unity and the strong relationship between the citizens and the state government.

Shelleng: Community-Focused Development Projects

In Shelleng LGA, the governor unveiled several crucial community projects, including a Primary Health Care Centre, the Fresh Air Town Hall, which holds 3,000 seats, and a new shopping plaza.

Praising the local administration's performance, Governor Fintiri described these projects as impactful and indicative of responsible governance at the grassroots level. He expressed commitment to addressing their request for a new water project and assured residents of the complete rehabilitation of the Kiri-Shelleng Road to enhance transport connectivity and commercial activities.

Hong: Infrastructure Enhancement and Economic Growth

At Government Secondary School in Hong, Governor Fintiri announced plans for the construction of six kilometers of roads and extending electricity to underserved communities.

He also announced the establishment of a new Science and Technology Secondary School, which, together with the road projects, is expected to be officially opened by the end of 2026. Additionally, the administration plans to rejuvenate the local water supply system to facilitate improved access to potable water.

Highlighting the primary goal of the tour, Governor Fintiri indicated that it serves as a vital opportunity for assessing performance in critical sectors and allocating additional resources where necessary.

Furthermore, the governor inaugurated a newly built grain market in Hong, intended to enhance commercial activities and foster economic growth in the region.

Community leaders, stakeholders, and legislators across the three Local Government Areas applauded Governor Fintiri’s developmental efforts, categorizing the projects as strategic actions that significantly impact the residents' lives.

The engagements on Days 6, 7, and 8 emphasized the administration's commitment to advancing infrastructure development, reinforcing local governance structures, and promoting inclusive growth across Adamawa State.
