Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who officially transitioned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) last week, made a visit to the party’s national headquarters in Abuja to meet with its National Chairman, Professor Nantawi Yelwata.
Accompanied by several lawmakers and close political allies from Adamawa State, Governor Fintiri's visit was intended to bolster relationships with party officials and to affirm his dedication to working under the APC framework to promote development in his state.
During the meeting, Governor Fintiri conveyed his appreciation to the APC leadership for their warm welcome following his defection, highlighting that his choice to join the APC stemmed from a desire to align Adamawa State with the national ruling party. He underlined the importance of unity and cooperation in achieving effective governance and facilitating progress for the populace.
Responding to the governor, Professor Nantawi Yelwata extended his congratulations on Fintiri's recent party shift, assuring him of the party’s full backing. He characterized the governor's decision as a vital enhancement to the APC’s influence in Adamawa State and across the broader North-East region.
Professor Yelwata also praised Fintiri's leadership approach, committing to collaborate closely with him to strengthen the APC's presence in the state.
