Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has conveyed heartfelt greetings to Muslims in the state, across Nigeria, and globally as the holy month of Ramadan commences. He encouraged citizens to focus on reflection, compassion, and the pursuit of peaceful coexistence.
In a press release issued by the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the Governor expressed hopes that Almighty Allah grants Muslims the strength, peace, and plentiful blessings as they embark on their fasting.
The Governor highlighted Ramadan as a fundamental tenet of faith that purifies the soul and uplifts the spirit.
He emphasized that in addition to abstaining from food and drink, this holy month acts as a “school of character and a refuge for the heart.” He implored the faithful to enhance their devotion, engage in charitable acts, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood.
To honor the sacred season, coinciding with the Christian observance of Lent, Governor Sani has sanctioned the payment of fines and the settlement of compensation for over 90 individuals convicted of minor offenses throughout the state.
The initiative is designed to offer relief to deserving inmates, foster reconciliation, and provide renewed purpose, in line with the moral values represented by both of these holy occasions.
Governor Sani urged those who benefit from this intervention to pursue peace, seek forgiveness, and commit to lives characterized by integrity, adherence to the rule of law, and devoted service to God and the community.
He also encouraged residents to show kindness to the vulnerable by sharing meals and resources, emphasizing that the season should reaffirm the dignity of every individual and the shared humanity that unites society.
The Governor appealed to individuals of all faiths to continue praying for lasting peace and harmony throughout Kaduna State, asserting that the state's diversity is its strength and that all citizens share a collective destiny.
He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fostering peace, rejuvenating the economy, and ensuring sustainable prosperity, indicating that the gesture also supports rehabilitation, social reintegration, and community harmony across Kaduna State.
