A new surge of violence has erupted in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State as unidentified assailants targeted Angwan Mada community.
The armed attackers struck on the night of Sunday, March 29, 2026, resulting in the death of one individual, Jonathan Audu, just hours after he had relocated to his newly constructed residence.
In addition to the fatality, the gunmen abducted a local resident known as Bilyaminu, firing shots indiscriminately and spreading panic among the community members.
A resident who recounted the unfortunate episode confirmed the attackers were heavily armed.
Furthermore, sources indicate that the assailants have contacted the family of the kidnapped individual, demanding a ransom of N10 million for his safe return.
This incident follows closely on the heels of a similar attack in Kwarra community within Wamba Local Government Area, where three individuals were reportedly kidnapped a day earlier.
