In a disturbing event, suspected bandits have abducted the family of Imam Abubakar Muhammad Digare, the Chief Imam of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), in Bauchi State.

This incident transpired on the evening of Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Digare town, located within the Gwana District of the Alkaleri Local Government Area.

A security analyst known as Bakatsine reported this occurrence on Sunday, noting that local sources revealed the assailants invaded the Imam’s home and forcibly took away several individuals, which included his wives and daughters.

“On that night, suspected bandits executed a daring attack at the residence of Imam Abubakar Muhammad Digare, Chief Imam of JIBWIS in Digare town, resulting in the abduction of multiple family members, including his wives and daughters. The attackers allegedly struck under the cover of night, coercively taking various victims to an undisclosed location,” Bakatsine stated.

“The shocking occurrence has aroused significant fear within the local Muslim community and has heightened concerns regarding the deteriorating security situation affecting numerous regions across the country. This attack happened in Digare, a town in Gwana District, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.”
