Nigeria's representative at the upcoming Basketball Africa League (BAL) Championship, MakTown Flyers, has received a significant motivational push from basketball enthusiast Igoche Mark. As the team prepares for the continental tournament in Morocco, Mark visited their Abuja training camp to rally the players, emphasizing the importance of representing the nation with pride and resilience.
Mark, a strong advocate for the club, addressed the team, urging them to demonstrate their strength and unwavering spirit on the international stage. He assured the players and the coaching staff of his continued commitment and support, highlighting that collective effort is crucial for success in the BAL.
"From the technical side, we are solid, and I think what we should do is to put in more effort and tell the world that we are strong, resilient, and we don’t back down," Mr. Mark stated during his visit. He further pledged his personal presence in Morocco to support the team, expressing his conviction that the Flyers would achieve success and bring honor to Nigeria and the MakTown Flyers brand.
In response, team captain Bright Akuiete conveyed the players' gratitude for the support and vowed their commitment to achieving positive results. "We appreciate your support, sir, and we promise to make you proud," he assured.
The MakTown Flyers, under the guidance of coach Abdur Rahman Muhammad, secured their spot in the BAL Championship by winning the 2025 Nigeria Basketball League title, defeating the Rivers Hoopers in the finals. Earlier, Mark had hosted the team, commending the club's proprietor, Akerannan Manusseh Achii, for his vision and leadership.
With preparations ramping up, the MakTown Flyers are set to carry Nigeria's aspirations as they compete in Morocco.
