Simi Awujo made quite an impression at Manchester United's Women’s FA Cup match against Chelsea, coming off the bench to score just minutes after her arrival. With Chelsea having taken the lead through Sam Kerr in the 78th minute, Awujo entered the pitch and managed to equalize shortly after, following a scramble from a free kick. Her timely strike breathed new life into the game.

But who exactly is Simi Awujo? Born on September 23, 2003, in Atlanta, Georgia, she is the daughter of Nigerian parents. Although she has spent part of her upbringing in Canada, she chose to represent the Canadian national team internationally, thanks to her mother's citizenship. Notably, Awujo has already participated in significant competitions, including the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and is set to appear in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
