The Iranian government has reportedly gathered over one million soldiers in readiness for a potential U.S. ground invasion.
It is believed that U.S. President sees a ground operation as the most effective method to apply pressure on Iran to accept Washington's 15-point peace initiative.
The Pentagon is contemplating dispatching an additional 10,000 troops, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.
However, a military insider from the ruling regime has stated that numerous Iranian youths are volunteering to join the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to defend their nation.
On the 26th, Iran's state-affiliated Tasnim News Agency, citing military sources, reported, “In addition to organizing over one million fighters for ground combat, there has been a significant increase in enlistments from Iranian youth requesting to join the Basij, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), and the Army (Artesh) to participate in potential conflicts.”
The source conveyed, “As speculation grows about the U.S. possibly making a 'historic blunder' by initiating a ground invasion from the south, there has been a palpable surge of enthusiasm among Iranian ground forces to create a 'historical hell' for Americans on Iranian soil.”
It further commented, “The U.S. intends to navigate the Strait of Hormuz utilizing suicide and harmful strategies; that's acceptable. We stand ready for both their self-destructive approach and to ensure that the Strait remains inaccessible.”
This development coincides with former President Trump again postponing plans to strike Iranian power plants in an effort to secure a deal to terminate the ongoing conflict.
Trump had previously issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the mullahs in Tehran to reopen this crucial waterway, only to dramatically announce a delay until the weekend.
The new deadline has now been extended to April 6.
