A senior commander of the Iranian police has urgently reached out to an agent from Israel's esteemed Mossad intelligence service, requesting assistance in toppling the current Islamic Republic regime in Iran. This startling revelation comes from a leaked phone conversation reported by the Wall Street Journal on March 18.

The reported call is one of multiple communications made by Israeli intelligence, which included direct threats to named Iranian security officials and their families, warning them to refrain from opposing any popular uprising aimed at dismantling the rule of the mullahs.

In Farsi, the Mossad agent cautioned the police commander, stating, "We know everything about you. You are on our blacklist, and we have all the information about you. I called to warn you that you should align yourself with your people. If you do not, your fate will mirror that of your leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Do you understand?"

The police commander replied, "Brother, I swear on the Quran that I am not your enemy. I am already a dead man. Just please, come and assist us."

Police presence on the streets of Iran

Since February 28, both the United States and Israel have worked towards creating an environment in which the Iranian populace can overthrow the theocratic government. This has involved Israel systematically targeting Iran's military infrastructure and focusing on assassinating key political figures.

Israel reportedly claims to have deployed around 10,000 airstrikes against various targets, with over 2,200 focused on the infamous Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Basij paramilitary forces, and other internal security entities. Thousands of casualties among Iranians are feared, although an exact number remains unreported.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the United States has primarily concentrated on Iran’s military and industrial capabilities, while Israel has specifically aimed at personnel associated with the regime, which includes high-ranking officials like Khamenei and local police leaders.

By March 6, within just a week of the conflict, Israeli airstrikes had resulted in the deaths of numerous high-ranking Iranian military and security personnel who were congregated in sports centers designated for backup uses in case their primary bases faced destruction.

Due to the intense wave of attacks, many security forces have resorted to sleeping in their vehicles or in mosques, as reported by the Journal.

Recently, Israel has modified its aerial assault strategy, focusing on precise drone strikes targeting Basij checkpoints and other strategic locations throughout Tehran and various cities in Iran, aided by intelligence from local civilian sources.

On May 13, the Mossad's Farsi-language Twitter account sent out a succinct warning to Iranians: "Steer clear of any Basij gatherings. All of these can be potential targets, whether on the streets or in their homes."

Just three days later, the account proclaimed, "Your final battle will begin shortly. We stand with you in the heavens, on the ground, and within our hearts."
