The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has declared its plans to extend its military campaign against Iran for at least an additional three weeks amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

The Israeli military reported that there are still numerous targets to address as part of its efforts to undermine Iran's military infrastructure and operational strength.

In an interview with CNN on Sunday, IDF spokesman Effie Defrin revealed that the military has established long-term operational strategies.

"We have thousands of targets ahead of us," Defrin stated. "We are coordinated with our American partners and have plans in place that extend through the upcoming Jewish holiday of Passover, approximately three weeks from now. Additionally, we have plans that extend even beyond that timeframe."

According to the IDF, since initiating the campaign against Iran on February 28, the Israeli Air Force has executed around 400 strike waves across western and central Iran. The main focus has been on dismantling critical infrastructure and targeting personnel involved in Iran’s military and defense production sectors.

Israeli officials have noted that both the U.S. and Israel have attacked numerous targets since the onset of the conflict, marking one of the most significant confrontations between the two nations in recent years.

Defrin emphasized that the military operations are not under strict time constraints; instead, they aim to fulfill strategic objectives.

"We are not operating on a strict timeline; our focus is on achieving our objectives," he remarked.

He further highlighted that Israel’s foremost aim is to considerably weaken Iran’s governance and military strength amid concerns that the conflict may intensify and extend throughout the region.
