The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has officially commenced the vaccination drive for those planning to participate in the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
Ahmad Umar Labbo, the Director-General of the Board, stated that comprehensive health measures and precautions are being implemented to ensure a safe and seamless Hajj experience for all pilgrims, covering their time in Nigeria, the Holy Land, and their return journey.
Labbo made these remarks during the launch of the vaccination exercise at the local level, underscoring the importance of immunisation in strengthening pilgrims' resistance to diseases.
Abubakar Habib, who heads the Board's medical team, affirmed that all necessary vaccines are readily available and will continue to be administered until every intending pilgrim is covered.
Muhammad Garba, the Director of Hajj Operations, also stressed the necessity for all pilgrims to adhere to the health regulations set by Saudi Arabia.
The Board conveyed its appreciation to Governor Umar Namadi for his continuous support in facilitating a successful Hajj operation.
