Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has laid to rest four individuals from its congregation who lost their lives in the attack on the Anguwan Rukuba community located in the Jos North local government area of Plateau State.
In a tragic incident on Sunday night, gunmen attacked the community, resulting in the confirmed deaths of 28 individuals and leaving many others injured.
On the following Saturday, family members of the deceased, along with the Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque, Sheikh Ghazali Ismaila Adam, performed the funeral prayer for the victims at Babale Burial Cemetery, after which the interments took place.
The ceremony was purposely scheduled at the cemetery to help prevent unrest in the area.
The Chief Imam, who oversaw the prayers, expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and urged them to maintain patience, framing the tragedy as part of Allah's will. He also appealed to the public to refrain from making inflammatory statements that could escalate tensions, emphasizing the paramount importance of peace in the community.
