Kaduna Police Raid Bandit Camps, Capture 17 Suspects

The Kaduna State Police Command has successfully raided multiple bandit camps, leading to the arrest of 17 suspected criminals during a significant operation across four local government areas. The crackdown involved intense confrontations and the seizure of various weapons and narcotics.

The Kaduna State Police Command has effectively dismantled several bandit camps, resulting in the detention of 17 individuals suspected of banditry during a concentrated operation across four local government areas within the state.

This operation, which occurred from February 10 to 13, 2026, focused on known criminal hideouts located in Kajuru, Tafa, Igabi, and Kauru.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, it was reported that several bandits were neutralized amid intense gunfire, and police were also able to apprehend individuals suspected of being informants and suppliers of drugs associated with these criminal groups.

The statement detailed the recovery of three AK-47 rifles made in England, seven home-made firearms, one licensed pistol, and a substantial quantity of hard drugs throughout the operation.

The police further indicated that some of the arrested individuals suffered gunshot wounds, and that among those in custody are alleged drug suppliers linked to these criminal factions.

The apprehended suspects have been identified as Ahamdu Bala, Abdullahi Alh. Fulani, Ado Bayero Reku, Samaila Bala, Nasiru Rabiu, Ibrahim Bello, Jafar Adamu, Nura Abdullahi, Adamu Alh. Raini, Adamu Haruna, Ado Babwuro, Shuaibu Sa’idu, Isiya Bammi (also known as Kire), Kabiru Adamu, Habibu Rabiu, Suleiman Adam, and Abubakar Idris.

The command noted that investigations are ongoing to dismantle the broader network of criminal activities and to apprehend fleeing suspects along with their accomplices.

Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad assured the community that intelligence- driven operations will persist targeting identified hotspots to eliminate banditry, illegal arms distribution, and related offenses.
