American streamer and content creator Kai Cenat has been spotted in Lagos, igniting fresh conversations online regarding the objective of his visit.
Footage circulating on social media depicts Kai's arrival in the city, indicating that this is his second trip to Nigeria. Almost immediately, users online began to speculate that his presence might be linked to the school initiative he pledged to support for children from the Makoko community.
Kai's inaugural visit to Nigeria occurred in March 2024, where he toured the Makoko Children Development Foundation School and Orphanage. He was reportedly moved upon witnessing hundreds of students sharing a single classroom. Following this, he made a commitment to help finance a suitable educational facility via his foundation.
At his Mafiathon 3 livestream in 2025, he reaffirmed his commitment by promising up to $5 million for the project. However, due to safety concerns regarding the floating setting of Makoko, the plans were later modified, relocating the intended school to Yaba in Lagos.
The revised project aims to provide free tuition for children from the Makoko community while offering subsidized fees for other students.
Although Kai has yet to officially disclose the purpose of his latest trip, the timing has reignited interest in the project's development.
