American rapper Kanye West is slated to hold a performance in Prague this July, as part of a proposed return to the European stage that has drawn criticism in various countries.
Zuzana Rambova, the director of Chuchle Arena, confirmed on Thursday, April 23, that the artist would appear on July 25. "He will perform on July 25," she stated, offering no further information regarding the event.
According to reports from Czech media, the concert is being organized by HUGO Production, a company reportedly owned by Slovak entrepreneur Hugo Varga, as indicated by the Czech Company Register.
The Prague engagement is anticipated to be a component of West's broader European tour scheduled for June and July. However, several other scheduled appearances have met with resistance from authorities.
In the United Kingdom, government officials have suggested that West would be denied entry for three planned performances at the Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park. Similarly, the mayor of Marseille, France, declared that the rapper was "not welcome" for a concert that had been planned for June.
In contrast, Bart van den Brink has indicated that there would be no impediment to West entering the Netherlands, where the artist is expected to perform in early June.
Last year, West was previously scheduled to perform at the Rubicon rap festival in Bratislava. This event, however, was called off following the release of a controversial song titled “Heil Hitler” on May 8, 2025, which fell on the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
The decision to cancel the Bratislava festival came after a petition signed by thousands of people expressed opposition to the performance. Despite these controversies, the 48-year-old artist, a recipient of 24 Grammy Awards, is continuing to pursue opportunities to perform again on the European music scene.
