A woman has shared a memorable experience with Prince Harry while travelling on a commercial flight returning from Australia.

Justine Parkhurst was reportedly feeling emotional on her flight from Sydney, having just attended the funeral of her grandmother. As she was crying, she realised the Duke of Sussex was seated next to her.

Prince Harry, 41, is said to have offered words of solace to Ms. Parkhurst during the flight.

"We chatted for a minute and I told him that my Nan is the only one I really wanted to tell about sitting next to the royal. He said, 'She already knows'. I believe he is right, I bet she arranged the whole thing," Ms. Parkhurst recounted.

It emerged that Ms. Parkhurst's presence on that particular flight on Saturday, April 18, 2026, was due to a last-minute change, as she and her husband had originally been scheduled to travel the day before. They were subsequently upgraded to first class on the American Airlines Boeing 777-300ER, the same cabin where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were seated following their tour of Australia.

Ms. Parkhurst expressed her belief that her grandmother, from beyond, had orchestrated this chance encounter.

She further noted, "My husband and I got super lucky and were upgraded to first class. While waiting to board... I will tell you that he (Harry) was very nice and so was his wife. They were sweet to everyone and each other."

Sharing her experience on Facebook, Ms. Parkhurst described how she began to cry after taking her seat, wishing she hadn't been on the plane at all, despite the upgrade for the long journey.

"I didn't even notice the person sitting next to me until they were adjusting the seat and getting comfortable. It was Prince Harry. His wife was across from him and their security guards right behind them," she wrote.

Reports indicate that Meghan Markle was seated across the aisle in a separate pod, placing Prince Harry in a middle seat adjacent to Ms. Parkhurst. Ms. Parkhurst was travelling back to her home in North Carolina, with a stopover in Los Angeles, after her visit to Australia, where her grandmother had lived.
