The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed profound grief following the unexpected death of Tukur Hassan Tingilin, who served as the Managing Director of the Katsina State Water Board. Mr. Tingilin, an accomplished engineer, died on Tuesday due to injuries sustained in a car accident. His burial took place on Friday in Malumfashi in accordance with Islamic traditions.
Governor Radda described the loss as a significant shock, praising Mr. Tingilin’s commitment to public service throughout his tenure as Managing Director. He highlighted Mr. Tingilin's relentless efforts to provide clean water access to every household in Katsina.
In a statement released by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the governor's spokesperson, it was noted that Radda finds some comfort in the fact that Mr. Tingilin died as a devout Muslim during the holy month of Ramadan.
The governor, representing both the state and its citizens, shared heartfelt condolences with the grieving family of the late Managing Director and the residents of Malumfashi. He invoked prayers for strength and resilience for those affected by this profound loss.
On Friday, Governor Radda attended the funeral prayers for Mr. Tingilin, which were conducted by the Khadi of Katsina State, Mutawakkil Mustapha Salis, immediately following the Jumu’ah prayers at the Malumfashi Central Mosque. The state delegation accompanying the governor included Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe, Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, Chief of Staff to the Governor Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, as well as other officials and dignitaries.
Additionally, local government chairpersons, the District Head of Malumfashi, Justice Sadiq Abdullahi Mahuta (rtd), traditional leaders, business leaders, and numerous community members also paid their respects at the funeral.
