The LTV BOS Hall in Agidingbi, Ikeja, was filled with joy on Saturday, January 31, 2026, as 150 young scholarship recipients took the spotlight during the Kellogg’s Scholarship Award Ceremony. Families applauded, cameras clicked, and the children radiated pride as they were honored with awards that promise to impact their futures positively.

Balo Iwara, the National BTL Lead of Kellogg’s Nigeria, remarked, “When we invest in children, we are investing in the future of the country.” Seven years into this program, his message remains vital, as ₦150,000 in educational funds was awarded to each of the 150 exceptional young individuals whose inspiring narratives resonate.

The 7th edition of this essay competition, which commenced in October 2025, invited children aged 7 to 12 from across Nigeria to share their stories based on the theme “My Superstar Journey.” More than 270,000 entries were submitted, reflecting the aspirations, creativity, and ambition of Nigeria’s future.

A committee of education experts assessed all submissions on parameters of creativity, quality of writing, originality, and storytelling proficiency. Although the competition was fierce, the spotlight was on 150 outstanding young authors who each received a scholarship of ₦150,000.

For many Nigerian families contending with escalating education costs, the ₦150,000 scholarship represents more than just financial assistance; it serves as a game-changer.

“I feel so happy because now I can buy my school books and become a doctor one day,” expressed Ejiofor Princess Chizaram, one of the awardees, whose bright smile lit up the ceremony. Other parents echoed similar beliefs, stating, “This scholarship means so much to our family. Kellogg’s has alleviated a significant burden from us and provided our child with a better chance to thrive.”

The financial support will cater to school fees and other vital educational needs, eliminating barriers that often hinder bright students from realizing their full potential.

This marks the seventh year that Kellogg’s Nigeria has sponsored the scholarship initiative, which began as a means to support children’s education. It has since evolved into a movement that underscores the importance of investing in young minds today to build a brighter future for Nigeria.

For the 150 families involved this year, this investment is already yielding rewards. Moreover, the thousands of children who submitted entries gained invaluable confidence through the competition, empowering them to articulate their dreams.

As the event concluded and families left with certificates and scholarship confirmations, it was evident that Kellogg’s is committed not only to providing breakfast but also to nourishing futures, one scholarship at a time.
