The Ministry of Education in Kogi State has officially declared that schools will resume on Monday, February 23, after a temporary break due to security issues.

On February 3, the state government had suspended all public and private educational institutions indefinitely as a precautionary measure to safeguard students and staff.

Matthew Salami, the Director of Basic and Secondary Education in the ministry, issued a statement on Friday from Lokoja, urging school administrators and the general public to be aware of the upcoming resumption date.

He confirmed that regular school activities will recommence, with both day and boarding students expected to return on the specified date.

Salami further expressed gratitude for the understanding and cooperation shown by students, parents, and educational staff during the break. He also indicated that any further updates would be communicated in due time.
