A viral video has surfaced showing a group of women resisting officials from the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) as they attempted to cut off electricity in their community, all while residents continue to suffer from poor power supply.

In the footage, the women, communicating in Yoruba, expressed their frustrations, stating, "We have not had light yet you still want to disconnect our wire? For three months you have not given us power. We all sleep outside now."

The visibly upset women surrounded the officials and the ladder they brought, preventing them from accessing the utility pole needed to initiate the disconnection.

When one of the officials tried to forcefully push a woman away, the others quickly came to her defense, forming a protective barrier around her.

The video has sparked varied responses online, with many praising the women for taking a stand against the actions of the PHCN officials.

Nigerians have been contending with inadequate electricity supply for the past three months. Recently, the Minister of Power issued an apology for the ongoing issues and promised improvements in the coming two weeks.
