A user on Facebook named Olusegun Iselaiye has shared his grief over the tragic death of a young man known as Juwon Ajisafe, who was killed by armed bandits in Bareke, situated in the Egbe region of Yagba West Local Government Area in Kogi State.
Reports indicate that the attack by the bandits took place on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
According to eyewitnesses, Juwon sustained gunshot wounds during this violent incident.
He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Local residents noted that security forces, including the Nigerian Army and community vigilantes, promptly responded to the emergency call and took action to stabilize the situation.
Olusegun conveyed his heartfelt condolences, stating, "Rest in peace, Juwon Ajisafe. This wasn't the path you chose, nor the end you deserved." He further remarked, "You became a casualty of a system that failed to shield its citizens from banditry, a system that cut your dreams short far too early.
He continued, "The sorrow lies not solely in your death, but also in the silence that ensues. We tend to move on too swiftly, going back to our routines until the specter of insecurity looms over us once again.
"It’s a cycle of indifference that we have yet to break. You deserved much more, Juwon. We will remember you, even when the world chooses to forget."
Additionally, an image of Olusegun reflecting on Juwon’s life accompanies the post, emphasizing the impact of this loss on the community.
