The Media Trust Group, which publishes Daily Trust, Weekend Trust, Aminiya, Trust TV, and Trust Radio, has celebrated Sheikh Musa Ibrahim Sagagi as the 2025 Unsung Hero of the Year during the 23rd Daily Trust Dialogue.
The award was given in recognition of his longstanding dedication to skills acquisition and education, which has positively impacted thousands in his community.
Sagagi resides in the Gangare community within the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. He founded the College of Islamic Studies (CIS) to improve access to secondary education for children from low-income families in Jos.
Established in 1977, the institution initially concentrated on Islamic studies but has since integrated a broader curriculum, allowing both Muslim and Christian students to enroll. This development has expanded access to private education, which was previously unattainable for many families, while also helping students to pursue both Islamic and Western educational paths.
