Troops conducting Operation Hadin Kai have taken into custody two individuals alleged to be informants for terrorist groups in the Mainok region of Kaga Local Government Area, Borno State.

Security officials indicated that these suspects were arrested around 3:00 a.m. on March 18, 2026, based on reliable intelligence regarding the presence of informants in the locality.

According to the sources, soldiers from the 156 Task Force Battalion were swiftly deployed to the area after they received tips from local residents about suspicious behaviors surrounding the Mainok vicinity.

"During the operation, two civilians suspected of aiding Boko Haram were taken into custody," the source reported.

Authorities recovered various items from the suspects, including electrical cables believed to be associated with terrorist logistical and support operations.

Currently, the individuals and the seized items are held in military detention and are set to be transferred to the Sector 2 Military Intelligence Brigade for additional investigation.
