In a distressing case from Alabama, a mother along with another woman faces charges for the starvation-related death of her five-year-old daughter.
The Jefferson County coroner classified the death of Jaedah Robinson, who passed away last autumn, as a homicide.
Jaedah was admitted to Children's of Alabama in October but sadly succumbed to her condition within hours of arrival at the hospital.
The 34-year-old mother, Raven Rogers, and a 30-year-old woman named Saiyah Ferguson are alleged to have contributed to the child's death.
Legal documents reveal that Rogers is charged with failing to provide necessary nutrition and medical treatment for her daughter, while Ferguson is accused of participating in the aggravated neglect and abuse that ultimately led to the tragic outcome.
Rogers is facing charges of criminally negligent homicide, whereas Ferguson faces accusations of felony murder related to the child's death.
Reports from AL.com indicate that Rogers is additionally charged with endangering her other daughter’s welfare.
Rogers has been released on bail, while Ferguson remains detained with a bond set at $500,000.
