The Kano Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully intercepted a significant shipment of illicit drugs that were likely intended for distribution during the forthcoming Sallah celebrations.
Acting on reliable intelligence, the operatives recovered 75,000 pregabalin capsules, 556 bottles of codeine, and loose cannabis sativa in the Badawa district of Kano.
A statement from the command's Public Relations Officer, ASN Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, indicated that the operation has disrupted a substantial supply chain of illegal substances that would have reached drug markets within the state.
According to the statement, the primary suspect associated with this operation is currently evading arrest but remains under close observation. Efforts are actively underway to apprehend this individual and bring them to justice.
The command has expressed gratitude to the community for their ongoing collaboration, urging citizens to continue providing reliable and actionable intelligence to bolster the fight against drug trafficking.
