Nia Long is pursuing legal action after claiming that a woman has been persistently appearing at her residence in Los Angeles, operating under the mistaken belief that they are romantically involved.
On March 23, the actress approached the court to request a temporary restraining order against an individual named Carrie McDonald.
In the legal documents acquired by TMZ, Long labels McDonald as a "stalker," asserting that she has no prior knowledge of the woman but indicates that she has faced harassment for more than two years. This includes receiving unwelcome gifts, flowers, and cards, in addition to unexpected visits to her home on two separate occasions.
Long's assertion includes an incident on March 21 when McDonald reportedly rang her doorbell, prompting police intervention that resulted in the woman's arrest.
According to the filing, there was a previous incident in 2024 where McDonald appeared at Long's home late at night, insisting that she be allowed entry. At that time, law enforcement officials reportedly issued McDonald a "strong warning" but arrested her on the second occasion she appeared.
Long is seeking court-mandated protection for herself, her two children, and her mother; however, a judge has denied her request for a temporary restraining order until a hearing scheduled for April.
