American rapper Nicki Minaj has filed a lawsuit against Nigerian influencer Dr Penking, alleging cyberbullying and infringement of copyright.

The controversy unfolded on Saturday when Dr Penking posted an archived video of Minaj on social media platform X, accompanied by a caption that read, "Nicki Minaj should recognize that she has aged and consider retirement."

In a post that has since been removed, Minaj raised concerns about whether he had permission to use the clip and accused him of utilizing it to "harass" her.

She also mentioned that he has been included in her legal action.

"Do you have authorization to use this video that I recorded years ago to harass me on this or any other platform? You have just become part of the lawsuit," she remarked.

In response, Dr Penking expressed that he and his team are prepared to confront the legal issues at hand.

"Inform Nicki Minaj that my team and I are ready and looking forward to receiving her legal documents. Freedom of speech and expression is paramount in all constitutions globally, and I have the right to voice my opinions freely. Is she aging? Certainly, she is 43," he stated.

"There is nothing harassing about this; it is publicly available information on Wikipedia. Should she retire? I believe she should. That’s my personal view, and I stand by it. Individuals can either agree or disagree. I refuse to be intimidated or bullied by Nicki Minaj or any other 'celebrity,'" he added.

Dr Penking vocalized his perspective on the matter in a Twitter post, addressing Minaj directly and reinforcing his stance on freedom of expression and personal opinion.
