The Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, has expressed his appreciation for the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies for their significant achievements in tackling banditry in the Mariga local government area as well as in regions of the Niger North senatorial district.
He referred to this operation as a substantial advancement in the ongoing battle against insecurity in the area, highlighting how the bravery, skill, and dedication of the security forces led to the neutralization of multiple bandits and the successful arrests of others.
The commendation from the Speaker was shared in a statement released on Sunday by the acting head of the Assembly’s Directorate of Media and Public Relations, Mairo Adamu Mani.
According to the Speaker, these actions have considerably diminished the threat posed by criminal gangs in the respective regions, restoring a sense of assurance among locals who have long lived in trepidation.
"Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji further recognized the relentless efforts of the security personnel, particularly the special forces and DSS operatives, commending their ongoing sacrifices to safeguard lives and property throughout Niger State and Nigeria as a whole," the statement continued.
He further acknowledged the dangers associated with such operations and expressed profound gratitude to the officers and personnel who risk their lives to maintain peace, security, and stability, particularly in communities that are more vulnerable.
The Speaker assured the security agencies of the Niger State Government's continued backing and collaboration, emphasizing that the state is committed to providing all necessary resources to bolster security operations.
