The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has effectively carried out an airstrike, destroying four terrorists' gun trucks along with numerous logistical assets in the Sambisa Forest region of Borno State.
This tactical operation was executed by the Air Component of the Joint Task Force North East, focusing on hostile factions within the Sambisa area.
As reported by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, the successful airstrike significantly hampered the terrorists' movement and operational capabilities.
Ejodame noted that the operation showcased the potency of intelligence-led aerial maneuvers in the ongoing fight against terrorism in the North-east.
He added that the mission followed thorough intelligence gathering and extensive aerial surveillance conducted in preparation for the strike.
This incident highlights the NAF's unwavering commitment to applying pressure on terrorist organizations, impeding their ability to maneuver freely or orchestrate attacks within the operational zone.
Furthermore, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reiterated the NAF's resolve to maintain superior air power in support of Operation Hadin Kai. He emphasized that this approach is essential to reinforcing operational achievements and promoting stability in the North- east.
In adherence to these directives, Air Vice Marshal P. N. Amadi, Chief of Operations at NAF Headquarters, initiated an operational visit to NAF Base Maiduguri on March 11, 2026, representing the Chief of the Air Staff.
The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the operational conditions and ensure the base's readiness for sustained high-intensity joint operations.
During this engagement, the Air Component alongside the 105 Composite Group provided detailed briefings on operational strategies and base defense measures, indicating the base's preparedness to fulfill its designated missions.
The Chief of the Air Staff stressed the necessity for a continuous air presence and the execution of precise operations to support joint forces working throughout the theater.
In a bid to enhance collaboration, Air Vice Marshal Amadi also visited the Headquarters of the Theatre Command, Operation Hadin Kai, asserting the NAF’s commitment to efficient integration with ground forces to achieve long-lasting security outcomes.
Earlier, Air Vice Marshal M. C. Ekwueme, Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command, visited NAF Base Maiduguri as well to uplift personnel morale and reaffirm the service's dedication to operational superiority.
The NAF has asserted that these high-level engagements reflect its proactive strategy and ongoing commitment to supporting collaborative operations aimed at restoring peace and stability within the region.
