The Nigerian Army has successfully apprehended 27 individuals suspected of engaging in illegal mining activities within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), while also neutralizing three terrorists in various operations over the last 24 hours.

According to a reliable military source who disclosed this information to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, troops from the 7 Guards Battalion, operating under Operation MESA, conducted a raid at an illegal mining site in Iddah, close to the Bwari Area Council of the FCT. During this operation, they arrested 27 suspects and dismantled their camps.

The source further mentioned that the operation resulted in the recovery of several items, including a dane gun, four motorcycles, and various mining equipment.

To bolster security in the region, troops have set up roadblocks along the Bwari–Ushafa–Dutse route. The source also indicated that the three neutralized terrorists were part of coordinated operations aimed at pressuring criminal elements across different regions. (NAN)
