Justice S.K. Jobarteh of Banjul's High Court has sentenced 44-year-old Nigerian national, Moses Ukwai, to life imprisonment for the r@pe of a seven- year-old girl.

Ukwai was charged with two counts of r@pe, with violations falling under Section 3(1)(a) and punishable according to Section 4(1)(bb) of the Sexual Offences Act of 2013.

While he was convicted on one charge concerning the seven-year-old victim, the court acquitted him of the second charge involving an eight-year-old.
