A Nigerian woman has been taken into custody in India following the discovery of cocaine valued at over N3 million.
The suspect, named James Tesling Yamyunal, was apprehended by the Drugs Task Force (DTF) in Secunderabad on Friday, April 3, 2026. She was found carrying 7.5 grams of cocaine, which she had reportedly transported from Mumbai.
Sources indicate that Yamyunal was intercepted near Sunshine Hospital in the Paradise area of Secunderabad. The DTF had acted on a tip-off regarding a Nigerian national travelling from Mumbai to Hyderabad with narcotics.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the arrested woman had acquired the cocaine in Mumbai for Rs 15,000 per gram. She intended to sell the drugs in Hyderabad at Rs 30,000 per gram, effectively doubling her purchase price.
The accused has since been transferred to the Secunderabad Excise Station to face further legal proceedings.
