A Nigerian woman has sadly passed away just hours after arriving in the UK to attend her child's graduation ceremony. Mrs. Oluranti Olufunmilayo Esther Akinyemi was reported to have suffered a cardiac arrest shortly after her arrival.

A Nigerian woman has tragically lost her life less than 20 hours after landing in the United Kingdom for her child’s graduation ceremony.

The sorrowful news was shared on X by a user known as SK the Plug, who identified the deceased as Mrs. Oluranti Olufunmilayo Esther Akinyemi (née Oluwalana/Ogundana).

According to the social media post, she traveled to the UK on February 11, 2026, in anticipation of her child's graduation scheduled for February 18. Unfortunately, in the early hours of February 12, she reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and was taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital.

Reports indicate that she remained in a coma for three days before being declared clinically dead on February 14.
