A woman residing in Nigeria has turned to social media to inquire whether her recent interaction with her gateman was perceived as disrespectful. She explained that it is her custom to prepare meals for special occasions like Easter and share them with others.
During the Easter celebration, she prepared food and invited her gateman to present his plate for a portion. However, he declined the offer.
Hours later, a neighbour informed her that the gateman felt insulted by the request, viewing it as demeaning for a married man to be asked to bring his own plate for food. The woman expressed that she had not considered her action to be significant or offensive.
She questioned her social media audience, "Did I actually do something wrong?"
