A Nigerian woman, Chinonso Onuoha, has opened up about one of the most frightening moments she faced during her marriage. She described how her former husband would frequently lose his temper while driving, placing not just her life but also that of their children in danger by threatening to crash the car.
In her reflection, Chinonso noted that she eventually came to understand that her ex-husband was not bold enough to act on his threats. Instead, it seemed he took pleasure in witnessing her fear.
"One of the scariest things I lived through in my marriage was my ex constantly getting mad while he was driving and threatening to crash the car and kill all of us," she recounted.
She detailed how he would drive recklessly, slamming on the brakes and swerving dangerously, all while threatening to collide with other vehicles.
"I would be crying and begging him not to kill our children," she shared.
With time, she realized he was merely tormenting her emotionally, adding, "Little did I know he was just a coward. He was never going to do it."
In her view, he was simply deriving enjoyment from her panic, tears, and pleas for survival. "It was pure entertainment for him," Chinonso concluded, revealing the psychological toll it took on her.
