A Nigerian woman currently residing in the United States has urged President Trump to inform immigrants if he wishes for them to depature from the country, suggesting they be given a year to organize their exit.
In a poignant video that has gained widespread attention, the elderly woman articulated her distress upon viewing multiple recordings of ICE agents making abrupt arrests of immigrants in distressing circumstances. She alleged that these actions have resulted in fatalities among some immigrants.
The woman also pointed out that many of the tasks performed by immigrants are ones that U.S. citizens are unwilling or unable to undertake.
‘’I watched some ICE videos yesterday, including one of a nurse who was just killed. It is truly traumatizing how these individuals are treating others.
President Trump, if you want immigrants to exit America, just say so! Declare openly that all immigrants are to leave, irrespective of their status, as the ICE personnel do not concern themselves with that. Numerous U.S. citizens have faced trauma, treated as if they were animals, despite their insistence that they are citizens. The disregard for their status is apparent.
Yesterday, upon receiving a video from my teenage son, my heart sank. I thought about telling him, ‘come, let’s pack our things and return to Nigeria.’
If you want us out of America, allow us some time to prepare, and we will comply. The work that immigrants do cannot be substituted by Americans! Many of you are in nursing homes, needing assistance, and yet you mistreat those who help care for your vulnerable.
This treatment is unacceptable, and I feel immense sadness for those suffering. President Trump, just communicate your desire, and we will depart! We are pleading for a year to arrange our affairs. Our families back home await our return, not for our bodies.
The actions of ICE leave much to be desired. Every video I’ve seen depicts them interacting with a lack of kindness.
President Trump, grant us time… we will depart from America. It’s not a problem; we still have our home country, whether it is flawed or not, as people there are managing to survive. The fear prevailing in Nigeria is not as intense. Enough is enough,’’ she stated.
