She revealed that her mother died on Saturday, February 7, a day before her planned 55th birthday party, which took place on Sunday, February 8.
Balogun disclosed that she was not immediately informed of her mother’s death. This decision was made by her family members, who reportedly wanted her to celebrate her birthday without the burden of the sad news. Her father eventually informed her of the passing after the birthday celebration concluded.
In her Instagram post, the actress expressed her sorrow and described her late mother as her "cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and gist partner." She also mentioned that the reality of her mother's passing had not fully sunk in due to their close relationship.
While finding solace in her faith, Balogun indicated that the Williams' family intends to keep details private for the time being. She appealed to friends and fans for their love and prayers during this difficult period for her and her siblings. The actress assured that burial arrangements would be communicated at a later date.
