The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has conveyed profound praise for Aliko Dangote, Nigeria's foremost industrialist and business magnate, as he marks his 69th birthday. Governor Yahaya described Dangote as a preeminent symbol of African enterprise and forward-thinking leadership.
Representing the 19 governors from the Northern region, Governor Inuwa Yahaya stated that Dangote's remarkable trajectory from an entrepreneur to a globally recognized industrial leader is a significant source of pride for Northern Nigeria and the entire African continent.
In a statement released by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General (Press Affairs) at the Gombe State Government House, and shared with journalists on Saturday, the governor emphasized that through the Dangote Group, the business mogul has fundamentally reshaped the landscape of indigenous entrepreneurship. He has built world-class industries that actively fuel economic expansion, bolster domestic capabilities, and generate thousands of employment opportunities throughout Nigeria and beyond.
The NSGF chairman specifically applauded Aliko Dangote's ambitious investments in critical sectors, with a particular focus on cement manufacturing, petrochemicals, and refining.
He pointed out that the establishment of the Dangote Refinery alongside the expansion of cement production facilities across Africa have substantially boosted the continent's industrial competitiveness and diminished reliance on imported goods.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya asserted that Dangote's unwavering belief in Nigeria's economic potential and his willingness to undertake long-term investments for national development position him as an outstanding illustration of what visionary private sector leadership can accomplish.
He added that the Northern Governors hold Dangote in high regard for his extensive contributions to economic advancement, employment opportunities for youths, infrastructure enhancement, and the promotion of Africa's self- sufficiency in vital industrial areas.
The forum also commended his extensive humanitarian efforts, channelled through the Aliko Dangote Foundation. These initiatives, which have significantly impacted millions of lives across various communities, focus on health, education, humanitarian aid, and poverty alleviation.
